The Nuclear age and other poems - Bern Porter

While in Ferryside the little village on the west cost of Wales writing and translating Magnus and I started the translation of several of Bern Porters poems into Swedish. Bern was a scientist who worked on the Manhatten project during the second world war. He became very disilusioned and turned to art and poetry rejecting on ethical grounds the work that he had done during world war two. It was a very interesting process translating into Swedish and at the same time due to the contents and being in Britain at the time I was reminded of my youth and CND and my activities in the anti nuclear movment in the eighties
